An otherwise good stay spoilt because I was given a low rent room when the hotel was not full.
Room was a good size and well appointed, and towels and toiletries were good. Location was excellent. Breakfast was good too. Hotel and staff were very nice
The room allocated to me was very noisy at night. It was situated directly above the rear service entrance, where staff congregated for cigarettes, deliveries were received throughout the night [without attempting to be quiet], and refuse collection in the middle of the night. I slept poorly throughout my stay there. This was exacerbated by the having two single beds pushed together instead of a double bed. The single beds were not attached to one another, nor fixed in any way. So they moved and separated, resulting in m having to sleep on a single bed despite booking a double room. I am a big man [6'1" tall] and this was not agreeable. I did attempt to bring this to the attention of a male receptionist upon check-out, but he was not interested at all. Another much smaller gripe, is that I booked the room online because the hotel advertised that it has a restaurant and bar. But these were not open during my stay.
